Larry Towell: The World From My Front Porch
February 16 through June 15, 2008

While Kurtis has been photographing in New Orleans I have been helping to install the next exhibition at GEH. Larry Towell: The World From My Front Porch.

Here is the official word from the museum.

"In celebration of three decades of photojournalism, George Eastman House presents a multi-media retrospective exhibition of work by the photographer Larry Towell, featuring photographs, writings, and audio recordings of original spoken words and music performances. Through an intimate perspective, Towell has captured scenes from the many political and geographical conflicts of the last thirty years. The World from My Front Porch is an exhibition that seeks to address the impact of social unrest on cultural identity."

The show opens to the public next Saturday and we still have quite a bit to do. Larry was in the gallery all week with us laying out his work.

Pictures from Kurtis - Habitat for Humanity

I just got off the phone with Kurtis. He has sent the first group of images from New Orleans. Some of the students will be sending me their thoughts about the trip and I will post them here for you.
